Privacy Policy

Effective: 31 August 2026 · This is a starter template — Kelnok should have it reviewed by legal counsel.

Kelnok ("we") operates the Kelnok Matchday app, which helps groups organise recreational sports games, split costs between themselves, and form balanced teams. This policy explains what we collect and your choices.

We never take your money. Kelnok is not a payment service. We do not process payments, do not hold funds, and never see your card, bank or UPI credentials. Players pay the game's organiser directly, in the organiser's own UPI app or in cash.

Information we collect

Account: your phone number (used to sign in with a one-time code), and the name, city, username and profile photo you choose to add. We also store the country, timezone and currency your games are shown in.

Paying for games: if you organise games you can publish your own UPI ID and a UPI QR image, which are shown to players joining your game so they can pay you directly. When a player pays, we store only a record of the settlement — the game, the amount, the currency, who owed it, when they said they had paid and when the organiser confirmed it. We do not process the payment, so no card number, bank account, UPI PIN or other credential is ever sent to us or stored by us.

Activity: the games you join or organise, teams you are placed in, attendance and drop-outs, anonymous player ratings and MVP votes, and the messages, photos, voice notes and locations you send in group threads and direct messages.

Device: a push notification token and your platform (if you enable notifications), and the app version, so we can tell you when an update is available.

Location: only if you grant the permission. Your approximate coordinates are sent with a search so we can sort games and venues by distance and look venues up. They are used to answer that request and are not stored against your account or used to track you.

How we use it

To run the core service — sign you in, show and coordinate games, let organisers collect what they are owed, balance teams, record who turned up, and notify you about your games. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

Sharing

We share data only with the providers that run the service on our behalf: Google Firebase (phone sign-in and push delivery), Google Maps Platform (venue search, when you use it), and Microsoft Azure (our hosting, database and image storage). Group content — your name, photo, messages and the games you are on — is visible to the members of groups you join. Your full phone number is never shown to other players; their profile view of you shows a masked form.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to act on a safety report (see our child safety standards).

Retention & deletion

You can delete your account anytime from the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account) or by emailing info@kelnok.com. On deletion we remove or anonymise your personal data; the settlement records described above are kept in anonymised form where required for accounting and dispute resolution. See https://mdapi.kelnok.com/account/delete.

Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your data, and contact us with any privacy question at info@kelnok.com.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly keep an account for anyone below it. Our child safety standards explain what we prohibit and how to report it.

Changes

We will update this page and the effective date when this policy changes.
